"Immersion" is a short fiction film about MOISES (about 10 years old, Latino) who has just come to California from Mexico. He is trying to learn English but he is struggling because the classroom is crowded, the teacher can't understand Spanish, and no one speaks English at home. ALICIA (about 10 years old, Latina) is friendly with Moises, but ENRIQUE (about 10 years old, Latino) picks on him. We are also casting for the roles of Moises' FATHER (Latino, early 40's, pushy) and MOTHER (Latina, early 40's, sweet), BROTHER (Latino, early 20's, burly), TEACHER (30's, Caucasian) and PRINCIPAL (40's or older, Latino). The characters (except for the teacher) speak mostly in Spanish in the film. The film is a non-profit project, sponsored by Film Arts Foundation in San Francisco. There is more about the film, including a 3-minute trailer, at http://www.immersionfilm.com.
